Celebrate #GivingTuesday & #GivingTuesdayPeeDee with the United Way

The United Way of Florence County is participating in this year’s #GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

About #GivingTuesday & #GivingTuesdayPeeDee

#GivingTuesday is a movement, built by people around the world, to celebrate giving of all kinds. It is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), Black Friday and Cyber Monday; this year it falls on November 29, 2016. This movement is the result of the collective power of a unique blend of partners—nonprofits large and small; businesses and corporations; schools and universities; civic campaigns in cities, states and regions; and families and individuals—to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities and contribute in countless ways to the causes they believe in. Everyone has something to give. #GivingTuesdayPeeDee is a new event this year that takes the idea of #GivingTuesday and uses it to put a local focus on agencies in the Pee Dee. Along with sharing information through the #GivingTuesdayPeeDee, there will also be a Donation Station/Open House event at the Florence Civic Center from 1-6pm. Individuals can attend this event free of charge to learn more about what these agencies are doing and make donations. The United Way of Florence County will be collecting monetary donations as well as donations of gift wrapping supplies.
